HŪMA Philosophy
Mistakes of Humanity confronts the moments when choice becomes surrender.
Each candle reveals how easily calm can mask danger—and how darkness often invites, rather than attacks.
Darkness does not always arrive in chaos.
In Witches’ Sabbath (1798), Francisco Goya presents evil as something eerily composed—ritualistic, almost serene. Satan stands at the center, not in fury, but in quiet authority, surrounded by those who have chosen devotion over reason. The terror lies not in movement, but in submission.
The Devil’s Vigilcaptures this moment of surrender. It is the calm before destruction—the stillness of a pact willingly made, where curiosity, desire, and alienation eclipse morality.
Goya’s vision reflects humanity cast to the margins: figures expelled from society, gathering in barren terrain under cold moonlight. This is a world stripped of warmth and abundance, where belief turns dangerous and devotion becomes fatal.
The candle translates this exile into scent. The landscape is dry and unforgiving—sand underfoot, herbs crushed by ritual steps, animal presence lingering in the air. Nature here is raw and indifferent, mirroring the moral emptiness of those who kneel before darkness.
The fragrance opens with herbal notes, sharp and untamed, recalling wild plants growing in hostile soil.
As the flame settles, patchouli emerges—earthy, dry, and grounding, evoking desert land and ancient rites etched into the dust.
At the base, musk dominates: animalic, leathery, and intimate. It lingers close to the skin, suggesting instinct over conscience, attraction over fear.
Together, these notes form a natural yet unsettling composition—herbal, animal, and austere—designed to feel calm, disturbing, and inescapably human.
The Devil’s Vigil is available as a limited pre-sale edition until January 31, featuring a promotional price and free delivery within the EU. After this date, it will be offered at its standard retail price.
